Fly to Skagway for the day (on Wings of Alaska)
Leave about 6:45 a.m., arrive 7:30 or so, in time to take the White Pass and Yukon Route Railway on a 3 to 3.5 hour roundtrip to the White Pass Summit. Departures @ 8:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. daily, Built in 1898, this narrow gauge railroad is an International Historic Civil Engineering Landmark. Explore the gold rush town of Skagway. Return flight to Juneau in the evening for a late dinner.

Admiralty Island National Monument and Kootznoowoo Wilderness Area
(a Tlingit word for "Fortress of the Bears", home to the largest concentration of brown bear in North America. Pack Creek entry is restricted to very small numbers of permits each day. Must be pre-arranged. Your access is by float plane. Call the United states Forest Service in Juneau for information # 907-586-8751.
Alaska Fly'n Fish Charters Local phone # 907-790-2120 as well as others purchase permits and will also make all arrangements if you don't want to do this by yourself.
They will also fly you in for guided freshwater flyfishing with an experienced bush pilot and wilderness guide.
